Turkse thee wordt traditioneel bereid in een zogenaamde çaydanlık (spreek uit als tjajdanluk). Dit is een tweedelige theepot die bestaat uit een grotere en een kleinere pot. De kleinere theepot zet men dan boven op de grotere. In de bovenste pot gaat losse thee en een klein beetje water. In de onderste pot wordt de rest van het water gegoten. Men laat de thee dan gedurende lange tijd (+/- 20 minuten) trekken waarna vervolgens het gekookte water uit de onderste pot in de bovenste pot wordt geschonken. Vervolgens schenkt men uit deze bovenste (kleinere) pot de thee.
Deze theepot is geschikt voor alle warmtebronnen.
