Turkish tea is traditionally prepared in a so-called çaydanlık (pronounced "chaydanluk"). This is a two-part teapot consisting of a larger and a smaller pot. The smaller teapot is placed on top of the larger one. Loose tea and a small amount of water are placed in the upper pot. The rest of the water is poured into the lower pot. The tea is then allowed to steep for a long time (approximately 20 minutes), after which the boiled water from the lower pot is poured into the upper pot. The tea is then served from this upper (smaller) pot.
This teapot is suitable for all heat sources.
